This week, we are shining a spotlight on Kevin McKernan, a genomics scientist with 25 years’ experience who has made significant contributions to the field. McKernan is a leading expert in sequencing methods for DNA and RNA. He has worked on the Human Genome Project and, more recently, in medicinal genomics involving DNA sequencing.
In early 2023, McKernan made a groundbreaking discovery at his independent laboratory in Boston; while investigating viral infection in cannabis plants, he found plasmid DNA contamination in the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA Covid-19 injections, discovering billions of fragments of plasmid (bacterial) DNA in both. The plasmids were found to contain additional components not present in the clinical trials; sequencing also revealed SV40 promoter components.
Recognizing the importance of his findings, McKernan shared his methodology and results, encouraging other scientists to replicate his work and evaluate their own findings. To date, this call to action has been heeded in various countries, including Japan, Germany, Denmark, and Canada (Ontario). University of South Carolina cancer geneticist Dr. Phillip Buckhaults testified in September to the South Carolina Senate about the DNA contamination found in Pfizer’s mRNA Covid-19 “vaccines.” These efforts demonstrate the importance of global collaboration in scientific research when addressing critical issues.
