Food for the Soul with Nina Heyn: New Website Is a Feast for the Eyes!

The Food for the Soul column by Nina Heyn has been a cherished cultural offering at the Solari Report since 2017. If you have not dived into Nina’s always insightful and entertaining discussions of art and movies—and her related blogs, podcasts, and interviews—you are missing out.

We’re proud to announce a splendid upgrade to the Food for the Soul website. Improvements include a versatile new home page that displays differently in the desktop versus mobile phone environments, and a unique search function on each page that allows you to search by artist, artistic movement, or other variables of interest.

Best of all, the beautified site features artwork by Nina’s very own daughter, Victoria Heyn, who has a newly minted BA in Cultural Anthropology and, like her mother, is multilingual. Victoria has studied art history in Italy and is adept at digital and graphic design.

Those who follow Nina’s work know that she has a particular passion for stories about women’s roles in shaping art history. One of the pages on the Food for the Soul website describes Nina’s forthcoming book, Women in Art: Artists, Model and Those Who Made It Happen. Written in an engaging, non-academic style, Women in Art promises to be a must-read not just for art enthusiasts and museum-goers but also for anyone interested in women’s contributions to our cultural heritage. The book will be available at the Solari Bookstore this fall—just in time for holiday gifts!
