In Let’s Go to the Movies, I will review the winner of the Solari Report Documentary of the Year for 2019—Harry & Snowman. Despite watching scores of more recent documentaries over the last year, I am reaching back several years for Ron Davis’ outstanding documentary with a message appropriate for the year ahead. From the Harry & Snowman website:
“Dutch immigrant, Harry deLeyer, journeyed to the United States after World War II and developed a transformative relationship with a broken down Amish plow horse he rescued off a slaughter truck bound for the glue factory. Harry paid eighty dollars for the horse and named him Snowman. In less than two years, Harry & Snowman went on to win the triple crown of show jumping, beating the nation’s blue bloods…. Their chance meeting at a Pennsylvania horse auction saved them both and crafted a friendship that lasted a lifetime.”
This is a story about the power of love—it’s the kind of power we want in our lives in 2020.
In Money & Markets this week, I will discuss the financial and geopolitical news and say more on what to watch for in 2020. E-mail your questions for Ask Catherine or post at the Money & Markets commentary here.
Talk to you Thursday
