“We have lost our herd immunity to a lot of moral idiocy”. ~ Abigail Shrier
By Catherine Austin Fitts
If you are raising a daughter, this is a must-read book.
In Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters, reporter and author Abigail Shrier has done an excellent job of researching and describing the recent explosion in gender dysphoria in America. She states:
Gender dysphoria – formerly known as “gender identity disorder” – is characterized by a severe and persistent discomfort in one’s biological sex. It typically begins in early childhood – ages two to four – though it may grow more severe in adolescence. But in most cases – nearly 70 percent – childhood gender dysphoria resolves. Historically, it afflicted a tiny sliver of the population (roughly .01 percent) and almost exclusively boys. Before 2012, in fact, there was no scientific literature on girls ages eleven to twenty-one ever having developed gender dysphoria at all. In the last decade that has changed, and dramatically. The Western world has seen a sudden surge of adolescents claiming to have gender dysphoria and self-identifying as “transgender.” For the first time in medical history, natal girls are not only present among those so identifying – they constitute a majority.
Shrier leads us through interviews with numerous people involved in this phenomenon—from the young people and their parents to coaches, therapists, educators, and activists. She is open and listens to all sides. Unfortunately, she finds that an expensive infrastructure of professionals has emerged, which can assist minors to access life-altering drugs and surgery—even without their parents’ knowledge or consent—at remarkably young ages. The risks of irreversible damage are real.
Shrier ends with a list of well-reasoned recommendations for the reader to consider when raising children. Two worth emphasizing are DON’T GET YOUR KID A SMARTPHONE and DON’T SUPPORT GENDER IDEOLOGY IN YOUR CHILD’S EDUCATION. I could not agree more.
Parents need to understand that we are now raising our children in a war zone—and predators and psychopaths have free rein to access our children, whether through smartphones or politicized school systems. It’s time to protect them from irreversible pharmacological and surgical damage resulting from the influence of people who do not have children’s best interests at heart.
Shrier has made an excellent contribution by researching and publishing this book. Irreversible Damage can save you and your family a great deal of heartache and pain. It is highly recommended.
