Interstellar 星际穿越 (Organ Version) | Main Theme & No Time for Caution | Wanying Lin 林婉莹
Our Music of the Week takes us into space, hyperspace at that, with this incredible rendering of the Interstellar theme by Hans Zimmer. It is performed here on organ by the young Chinese artist and concert organist Wanying Lin. Wanying studied music and organ at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and at Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts. She now lives and works in Toulouse, France, where she made and recorded this performance in the Basilica of Saint-Sernin.
Wanying Lin shows her talent and technical brilliance, while staying within the strict rhythm of the clock (60 beats per minute) as befits the theme of time captured and elaborated in the film. And it is fascinating to see how certain perspectives of the organ actually look like the tesseract.
