Music of the Week: August 2, 2024: Camille Pépin – The Sound of Trees: Apaisé, boisé

Don’t we love the summer months, when we soak in as much sun and summer as we can to recharge our batteries of confidence, lightness, and resilience.

Our Music of the Week by French contemporary composer Camille Pépin sings of summer and new growth, as each instrument becomes like a tree or a plant piercing the earth and finding the sun’s light.

Camille Pépin is a young and rising composer of exceptional talent who is inspired by mystical perceptions of life. Listen to “Apaisé, boisé” from her album The Sound of Trees based on Robert Frost’s poem of the same title, and visualize yourself on a hot August afternoon walking through waving blades of grass and under the playful leaves of slender trees.

Camille Pépin’s music is a discovery in and of itself. It is worthwhile listening to the complete track list of The Sound of Trees, performed by the Orchestre de Picardie.
