“Your family are the people who won’t turn you in.”
~ Andrew Vachss
The 2010 action-comedy movie The A-Team, based on the 1980s television series of the same name, was Solari’s pick for Movie of the Year back in 2013. It is now our pick for Movie of the Week because of its unfortunate relevance in a climate of escalating lawlessness. The protagonists are members of a Special Forces team who escape and work to clear their name after being falsely imprisoned for a crime they did not commit.
As we wrote 10 years ago, the film is “about what to do when the system of which you are a part is so overtaken with corruption that you have to create your own world, hold to higher standards of morality without regard to a formal legal system or government, and make your own way in a difficult time.”
Best of all, it’s an enormously entertaining action film with a great cast. Catherine describes it as one of her favorite action movies ever. So, you can watch with members of your family who don’t want to know the truth, but get a good message to them while they are enjoying high-action drama and unbelievably funny laughs. Can you imagine a parachute jump in a tank? It’s one of the funniest scenes to come out of Hollywood.
