The 2004–2009 remake of the Battlestar Galactica series (not to be confused with the original Battlestar Galactica series from the late 1970s) has been our movie selection a number of times. Some of the Solari team are rewatching it and realize the timeliness of the production.
The futuristic epos treats ancient gnostic, biblical, and Mormon themes of a war between a remnant group of Humankind and a race of robots that were created by reptilians in a distant part of the universe.
The last warship—the Battlestar Galactica—under Commander Adama protects the last human survivors as they attempt escape from the “archons” in search of the 13th tribe (reminiscent of the 13th Aeon of the Sophia literature).
One of the significant topics of the story, and the reason why we bring it forward at this time, is the intelligent exploration of the intricate and multilevel relationship between AI, robots, and humans. All of this is treated in a serious theatrical drama and presented in a performance of almost “Shakespearean” character that also provides a marvelous case study of issues of governance and leadership.
Many people realize that we are currently playing out a textbook that spans millennia of past, present, and future that are never really separate. Watch Battlestar Galactica and you will get a better idea of what is coming to pass on planet Earth.
