If you think about the above quote for just a second, you start seeing that what we call art today is not always what it’s supposed to be. Art is one of the fastest ways to reach the human mind—by using our emotions it bypasses the (critical) mind. Which is why it has been so important for certain organizations to “own” the culture, or why there seems to be a concerted effort in many parts of the world to “cancel” culture, whatever that means.
