Another award-winning and utterly charming production from South Korean filmmakers, The King’s Affection takes us back into the fairy-tale times of Korea’s Great Joseon kingdom. Park Eun-bin, the star of the legal drama series Extraordinary Attorney Woo, once again gives a brilliant performance in this romantic tale of a princess—a twin—disguised as the young king. She/He is regarded as a cold-hearted monarch who demands that all of the entourage stay at a five-step distance at all times. Nobody knows that this is a sacrifice that her role demands in order to remain undiscovered. But true love will overcome any social distance.

In line with other outstanding Korean productions such as Mr. Sunshine, this 2021 TV series shines by its elegant directing and appealing story with marvelous costumes and the most handsome South Korean acting.

The series can be watched on Netflix.
