“We need good values in agriculture.”
~ Roy Ramey

By Catherine Austin Fitts

In West Virginia, the race for the office of Commissioner of Agriculture could have national implications for the local food movement. Our Food Series host, Pete Kennedy, has drawn attention to the landmark “Little Ag” candidacy of Roy Ramey, a regenerative farmer who walks his talk. As Pete notes, “Ramey’s campaign platform is as pro-local-food as you can get.”

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ramey in person. As is evident in this interview and his campaign slogan (“Food Freedom is Freedom”), Ramey clearly understands the intimate connection between financial transaction control and control of the food supply.

If you live in West Virginia, this campaign is critically important to you, your family, and your community. If you live in the United States, it is very important to you, too. Let’s invest in the momentum of good things happening—like good food and good health for all.
