Pushback of the Week: May 27, 2024: Congressman Thomas Massie

“My election is in 12 days. AIPAC superPAC just bought $300,000 of ads against me because I am often the lone Republican for freedom of speech, against foreign aid, and opposed to wars in the Middle East.” ~ Congressman Thomas Massie

Once again, we have selected Congressman Thomas Massie as our Pushback of the Week. This time, we recognize Rep. Massie for his stance against foreign special interest groups attempting to influence elections through financial pressure, and for his May 16 introduction of The Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act, HR 8421.

Less than two weeks before Kentucky’s primary election—and Massie’s primary race—AIPAC (the American Israel Public Affairs Committee) has spent a reported $300,000 on TV ads statewide, attacking Massie’s record.

A week after AIPAC launched its anti-Massie advertising campaign, Massie introduced his “End the Fed” legislation. HR 8421 would abolish the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve system and the Federal Reserve banks. It would also repeal the Federal Reserve Act, the 1913 law that created the system.

When Catherine saw Congressman Massie at the Rogue Food conference this past weekend, she reminded him that the Fed and the New York Fed can go out of business only after they have been required to disclose their transactions and return the $21 trillion.
