It is Thanksgiving week in the United States, so we are publishing our Music of the Week early to bring you a song of gratitude through the beautiful tunes of five-time, Grammy-Award-winning country singer and songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter.
We have used this song before; it is one of those pieces that conveys in a touching and thought-provoking way those thoughts of grace and thankfulness that are incumbent upon us to have for all the gifts of life.
The popular speaker on meditation and mindfulness Joe Dispenza explains: “The longer you rest in gratitude, the more you become a magnet to a new destiny.” Most people believe gratitude is due after we receive the gifts that we desire from life—but it is actually the other way round. Once we can feel the same gratitude as if the desired outcome has already arrived, miracles happen.
Gratitude is the ultimate state of receivership.
