The Man Who Invented Christmas is set in 1840s London, a period when renowned author Charles Dickens was facing financial issues and a creative block following the disappointment of his three previous works. Inspired by real-life events and his own vivid imagination, he embarks on a journey to write and independently publish the book that ends up reviving his career.

Christopher Plummer delivers a riveting performance as the fascinating Ebenezer Scrooge; alongside him, we see the beloved Tiny Tim and other iconic figures from the timeless tale of A Christmas Carol. The movie delves into how, amid a string of failures, Dickens contemplated the fate of his writing career until he stumbled upon a Christmas tale that transformed the way that Christmas is celebrated today.
