Hero of the Week: June 24, 2024: Leslie Manookian

Our Hero of the Week is Leslie Manookian, a former successful Wall Street business executive who chose to leave at the height of her career to pursue a more meaningful path. She transitioned from finance to health, becoming a qualified homeopath and a passionate advocate for nutrition, well-being, and health freedom.
While living and working in London, she became aware of the vaccine debate, which sparked her interest in exploring the issue further. Determined to shed light on this controversial topic, she wrote and produced The Greater Good, an award-winning documentary that examines vaccines from various perspectives.
As the president and founder of the Health Freedom Defense Fund (HFDF), Manookian is dedicated to rectifying health injustices. The HFDF focuses on education, advocacy, and legal challenges to unjust mandates, laws, and policies that undermine health freedoms and human rights. Additionally, Leslie serves on the board of the Weston A. Price Foundation, which promotes nutrient-dense traditional foods and sustainable farming.
Leslie is active on the legislative front, working tirelessly to protect medical and health freedoms in her home state of Idaho and across the nation. She has presented numerous times in the Idaho State Legislature, playing a crucial role in defeating legislation that would have reduced health freedom, medical rights, and privacy. Her efforts also helped secure consumer access to raw milk, demonstrating her commitment to individual health choices.
Recently, Leslie’s work with the HFDF led to a significant settlement with Disney and, in addition, a major victory in the Ninth Circuit Court, where the court overturned the dismissal of a lawsuit against the Los Angeles Unified School District’s compulsory vaccination policy for all staff, marking a significant win for health freedom advocates (see this week’s Pushback of the Week for more details).
