Action of the Week: July 22, 2024: Protect and Nurture a Healthy Spirit

Prioritize some time and give yourself reminders to maintain that higher mind; ultimately, that is crucial for your health.” ~ Catherine Austin Fitts

For many, one of the main challenges of our time is how to maintain a positive outlook and peaceful mind. That is why our recommended Action of the Week—protecting and nurturing a healthy spirit—is so important.

How does one keep dark clouds at bay and find joy and balance, staying grounded and remaining peaceful and positive? Here is one man’s perspective on the subject of his longevity:

I met a man who was 100 years old. He ate everything on the table. He smoked two packets of cigarettes a day; he drank a pint of whiskey every day; and he loved the women. I asked him the secret of longevity. ‘Well,’ he said, ‘it’s very simple; I have no grudges, no peeves, no resentment, no hatred.’ He said, ‘When I open my eyes in the morning, I say … This is the day the Lord hath made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.’ Then,’ he said, ‘I say for about 10 to 15 minutes every morning, ‘The rejuvenating, revitalizing power of God almighty flows through me like a golden river—vitalizing, transforming every atom of my being, so that every atom of my being dances to the rhythm of the eternal God.’” ~ Author Unknown

Recalling the comment of F. M. Alexander (developer of the Alexander Technique), who said, “People do not decide their futures; they decide their habits and their habits decide their futures,” here are some suggestions for habits that can help you stay in the divine mind:

  • Find humor, and stay close to people who bring you joy.
  • Focus on high-quality nourishment and achieving a good balance of nutrient-dense foods in your diet.
  • Make the quality of the water that you drink a priority.
  • Make sure you sleep enough and that your sleep is of good quality.
  • Exercise (whether high-intensity workouts or brief walks) and spend time in the fresh air.
  • Pamper yourself with favorite therapies, massage, or a visit to the hairdresser.
  • Do something that you love.
  • Remember the joy that music can bring; listen to music (or make music yourself) often.
  • Reduce exposure to environmental toxins, including Wi-Fi and screens.
  • Get out in nature, ground, hug an animal (or two), and enjoy the stillness of just being.
  • Avoid immersing yourself in dark situations or subject matter that you cannot change.
  • Volunteer to help in your community.
  • Praise God and give thanks for your life.

It is our firm belief that maintaining a positive mental attitude is essential for experiencing happiness and tranquility. Carrying the burdens of the world, no matter how small, can unknowingly weigh heavily on one’s physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Remember that you can achieve greater effectiveness when you have a clear and unburdened mind.
